SEM Chip Guard Aerosols

The SEM Chip Guard Aerosol is an extremely durable acrylic coating that matches light to medium OEM textures and protects lower panels from chipping, abrasion, corrosion, and impact. It is suitable for properly prepped, primed and painted surfaces, SMC surfaces and also fiberglass.

It is available in clear or black satin finishes. Its spray patterns can duplicate a variety of factory textures. It also has a quick drying property. When stored in a cool, dry place with adequate ventilation, away from heat, flames, and sparks, it has a shelf life of two years.

To prepare a surface for use, clean it thoroughly and remove any loose paint, then sand with 400 grit paper, blow off and clean again. The SEM Chip Guard Aerosol is perfect for use on rocker panels, lower fenders, and bumpers. This paintable chip guard duplicates a fine factory finish. Shake or stir well before use and apply at approximately 70°F (21°C), for best results. It only requires two or three medium wet coats and has a maximum flash time of five to ten minutes between coats.

For a heavier texture, use at low air pressure and a close spray distance. A higher air pressure and increased spray distance offer a fine texture. If there is clogging, remove the spray button with a twisting motion and clean with a VOC-compliant material. This chip guard is a great help in fixing vulnerable lower panels of vehicles and is a perfect addition to your auto body workshop.
