This chip protector is a resilient, hard and long lasting coating that helps restore or recreate the stone finish that the manufacturer originally intended. With just one application, it can cover seams and weld marks, thanks to its thick and strong formula.

What is Gravitex?

Gravitex is a durable, tough coating that protects against stone chips, damp, rust and salt. This quick drying chip protector is efficient and can restore original stone-chip finish and performance. Available in a one liter pack, Gravitex is easy to use.

Choose among black, gray and white colors. This stone chip protector is suitable for use on bare metal and original paint surfaces. If you want to overcoat aluminum, you need to use a primer.

How to prepare the surface for using Gravitex

Use a lint-free cloth to clean the surface with water-based or solvent-based degreaser. Whet flat surface with 400 grade paper and use a 180 grade paper on bare metal. Then, you can go ahead and re-clean and dry the surface.

How to use Gravitex

Shake the Gravitex tin before use and apply the coating with a clean spray gun or brush. Let it stand for 10 to 15 minutes so that the solvent can act on the surface and create a thick coating. A coat of this stone chip protector can build approximately 100-150 microns and requires steady pressure maintenance of 2.76 — 4.82 BAR at the gun. If the pressure falls off this range, then it can make the coating look flat or carry a rippled effect.

You can use this formulation to over-paint most of the paint systems available today. If you want it to radiate sheen and have a hint of new, then you must use U.V. Clear. This coating also prevents fading and discoloration.

Available ready to use, Gravitex can be mixed with 5% great quality cellulose thinners to lend it some texture. To clear the spray gun after use, you can use cellulose thinners. Hide unsightly seams and welds and give surfaces an even finish with the U-Pol Gravitex HS Stone Chip Protector.
